Inspect before cleaning
Check tile damage, ridge condition and the areas that need attention. Cleaning should not be used to hide an unresolved repair problem.
Discuss your roof →Careful removal of grime, moss and lichen with the roof checked as we work.
A roof clean should account for the material and its condition. Fragile tiles, deteriorated ridge mortar and existing leaks need consideration before cleaning starts. We assess whether repairs should come first and discuss a method appropriate to the tiled roof.
Arrange a cleaning assessment →Check tile damage, ridge condition and the areas that need attention. Cleaning should not be used to hide an unresolved repair problem.
Discuss your roof →Consider the surface condition and any previous coating. If cleaning is part of a full restoration, preparation and the next stages are explained in the scope.
Discuss your roof →Assess the clay surface and finish before choosing the approach. Glazed, unglazed and previously treated tiles should not all be handled as concrete.
Discuss your roof →Removing surface growth and grime may be all that is needed to improve the roof’s appearance. Other roofs need tile repairs or ridge work as well. A coating is a separate decision based on material suitability and condition, rather than an automatic extra after every clean.
Mention moss, lichen, heavy staining or any previous painting or cleaning. Let us know about leaks or fragile tiles you are aware of so they can be considered before a cleaning scope is agreed.
We assess the roof and provide a written scope before the work is agreed.
